Description

There's no good picture without blood!
Well, no there is, actually, but from all the pics and screens I was to choose from, the one with the blood intruiged me the most ^^;

Christoph Waltz, best known from his Oscar-winning performance as SS Colonel Hans Landa.
Drawing him was definately overdue, although I did draw his pants a while ago ;D

EDIT: I edited the hair a little, thanks to viesify for the critique :)

The screen I used as guideline was a screenshot from "Das Geheimnis im Wald" (The secret in the forest), were (beware! SPOILER!) Waltz played a teacher who just came back after beeing in prison for 15 years for raping and killing a girl. An other girl just vanishes at the beginning of the movie and Waltz becomes the prime suspect.
In the end (don't read, if u wanna watch it, it's a very experience-spoiling spoiler :police: ), it turnes out, the girl just ran away with her boyfriend, and the girls father was the one who killed the girl, Waltz' character was inprisoned for - innocently! Waltz' char knew that the girl was just with her boyfriend but wanted to use the situation to make the girls father confess that he killed the first girl.
But (I hate that ending ;_; ) one of the cops tryes to beat the answere, where the missing girl is, out of Waltz and takes away his asthmaspray, ultimately making the poor innocent man suffocate

So concidering all this, I chose the title 'Backfired', for Waltz' characters plan to get justice backfired terribly, in the end killing himself. *sobb*

Anyways, enjoy Christoph Waltz~ :iconthatsabingoplz:

Time: 'bout 5 hours
Media: A. Photoshop (5) LE
Music: 'Sexy Bitch' - D. Guetta

PS. Tried a bunch of new stuff while drawing this one. Burned the lights instead of the mids this time, as well as adding texture to give a skin-like look to the face. And some other things. I started off a little rusty but I'm quite happy how it turned out in the end ^^

I love this!
I instantly recognized him. The movie was fantastic.

Anywho!
Since you have photoshop at your disposal, I personally wouldnt use the burn/smudge tool as much. <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/f/f…" width="15" height="15" alt=":(" title=":( (Sad)"/>
I know since photoshop has it, many artists just use it. Sadly this makes their works look very "photoshop-y". (does that make sense?)

For example, the veins in his face, near his eye, look FANTASTIC! And the lighting? Perfect!

But his hair looks like it isn't exactly attached to the top of his head. The bottom, along his ear, looks great! But the top looks like a toupée. There should be a stronger shadow along the top, where the hair roots would be.

I'd just say use the brush some more, and don't rely too much on the blur and burn/dodge tool.

You did a fantastic job!
